Burien

In 2016, Woodring College of Education began an innovative educational outreach program leading to completion of a BAE (Language, Literacy and Cultural Studies) degree and a Washington State Residency Certificate with endorsements in Kindergarten through Grade 8 and English Language Learners (ELL) or Bilingual Education (BE) in Burien. 

This program is delivered in partnership with Highline School District and as part of the Future Bilingual Teacher Fellows (FBTFs) program, which was developed to increase the numbers of bilingual teachers in the greater Seattle area.

Programs in Burien

The Woodring Highline Future Bilingual Teacher Fellows (FBTF) Program is a Route 1, Alternative Route to Certification partnership between Highline Schools and Western Washington University. The route supports employed paraprofessionals who seek to become K-8 certified teachers.
