    Robert Squires has been named the new vice provost for Outreach and Continuing Education at Western Washington University, and will begin work at his new post in August.

    Squires, who was hired following a national search, is the current director of UMOnline in the School of Extended and Lifelong Learning at the University of Montana in Missoula. Squires takes over for Earl Gibbons, who is retiring.

    Western Washington University’s Extended Education unit is transitioning to its new name, Outreach and Continuing Education (OCE).

    Sept. 1, 2019 will be the official launch of the new name. All systems and references to Extended Education are expected to be changed to Outreach and Continuing Education by that date, however efforts to start the process will launch as early as July 1, 2019.

    You’re invited to AUAP Poster Presentations!

    Drop in Friday afternoon, June 7, from 1:30 – 2:50 p.m. in VU565 to see our AUAP students give interactive poster presentations on their research topics! This is the culmination of four months of hard work interviewing WWU students and writing research papers.

    Presentations, followed by Q & A, are only 10 minutes long, so even if you can only come for a little while, it would be great to have a supportive audience!

    Presentations start at 1:40, 1:50, 2:10, 2:20, 2:40 and 2:50 p.m.

  • May 3, 2019

    Western Washington University will open its campus for Summer Session to community members of Whatcom and Skagit counties.

    Summer Session enables community members to take classes at Western without the requirement of admission. Summer Session provides access to more than 500 on-campus courses, 80 online courses, and a variety of field and travel options.
