Meet Our Staff

Western Washington University and our conference staff are proud members of the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International.

Our team of full-time staff has over 30 years combined of event planning and program development experience. Read below to meet each of our staff members and learn how they can best support your needs.

Cory Herman, Program Specialist

Cory is a proud Alumni of Western Washington University, graduating in 2006. Prior to joining the Conference Services team, Cory held conference and event management positions for the City of Vancouver, The Ferndale Chamber of Commerce and various privately owned companies. She has a combined 10 years’ experience in the event planning and management industry and is excited to be back at Western. Michele Anderson, Program Specialist

Michele grew up in Bellingham, graduated from Western Washington University in 1989, and returned to the Pacific Northwest after 19 years in Southern California. She has over 20 years experience with program and event management in the private sector, having worked at The San Diego Union-Tribune, the San Diego Padres, and several Northwest companies on a contract basis. She enjoys developing dynamic programs, collaborative partnerships, and creative solutions for events, and is excited to be back at WWU.

Colleen Jacobson, Event Coordinator

Colleen is a fresh alumna of Western Washington University, graduating in spring 2016. She has a combined 5 years of experience in event planning and conference housing at Western, originally starting as a student employee with Guest Housing. Colleen joined the Conference Services team in 2016 and serves our clients as an Event Coordinator. She looks forward to continuing to build relationships with perennial clients and conference attendees while welcoming first time groups to beautiful Bellingham.
