Kids Night Out @ Western (KNOW) Bellingham

Enjoy a well-deserved date night while your kids have a fun-filled evening through Kids Night Out @ Western (KNOW).

Students in grades K-5 will explore hands-on science activities in Western’s Science Resource Center in the following class groups: grades K-2 and grades 3-5.

To further the experience, an optional hour of swimming is offered for an additional fee at the Wade King Student Recreation Center on Western’s campus.

Youth program participants and staff must abide by all University regulations and program rules.

Each KNOW session will feature a unique science theme for your child to explore:

  • October 26 - In a Galaxy Far, Far Away
    Your child will adventure through the science of stars and space.
  • February 15 - Everything Engineering
    Students will put on their engineer hats for a night of creating and building.
  • April 26 - What's in Bellingham Bay?
    Kids will take a deeper look at the amazing marine life that we share Bellingham Bay with.

Students are asked to bring:

  • A healthy snack
  • A water bottle
  • Swimsuit, towel
  • Jacket (for walk to Student Recreation Center)
  • A curious mind

Cancellation Policy

All classes and programs are self-sustaining and subject to minimum enrollments.

Cancellations must be made seven days in advance of the session and must be submitted in writing through youth@wwu.edu. No refunds are available for this program unless the program is cancelled.
